TROY, Mich., May 25, 2021 — On Walsh Giving Day, May 19, Walsh exceeded its fundraising goal for the second year in a row, raising more than $61,000 to benefit critical student scholarships including a scholarship for frontline workers, the Student Emergency Assistance Fund, which supports students impacted by the COVID pandemic, and the Lesia Mahon Memorial Scholarship, among others.

Wash Giving Day featured several virtual events including Strategies for a Virtual Job Search, an interview with recently-appointed Walsh CFO Teresa Esshaki and Diversity: Fueling Better Business, led by Lee Meadows, Ph.D., author, leadership development consultant and adjunct professor of management at Walsh.

“Once again, Walsh alumni, partners and friends stepped forward to support Walsh students. We are grateful for their generosity, which provides access to scholarships, free tutoring and other programs that help students change their lives through education,” said Michael Levens, Ph.D., Walsh president and CEO.

Walsh Giving Day was sponsored in part by Dynamic Marketing, Farbman Group, MGM Grand Detroit, Apparatus Solutions, Laura and Tim Kalil, Schmidt Family Holdings, Wealthcare Management Services and Baker Tilly.
