TCF Financial CEO David Provost Keynote Speaker for Walsh Commencement

TROY, Mich., June 2, 2021 — David Provost, Chief Executive Officer of TCF Financial, will be the keynote speaker and receive an honorary Doctor of Laws at Walsh’s 116th commencement, which will be a virtual ceremony, on Saturday, June 26, 2021.

Provost was named CEO of TCF Financial in Oct. 2020 after serving as executive chairman. He has also served as president and CEO of CHFC, the holding company for Chemical Bank and as chairman and CEO for Talmer Bank and Trust. Earlier in his career Provost established The Bank of Bloomfield Hills and The Bank of Rochester, which were combined and sold to PrivateBancorp in 2005. He started his career at Manufacturers Bank of Detroit, which is now Comerica. 

Provost has been recognized as a Crain’s Detroit Business “40 Under 40,” Deal Maker of the Year and Most Influential Business Professionals and Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year. He received the Walsh College Jeffery W. Barry Award for Educational Excellence and Community Service in 2018.
