[DETROIT] – This October, SolvIT is proud to be working with Grand Circus to offer additional funding for a coding bootcamp thanks to the TechHire Initiative. On August 21, Mayor Mike Duggan’s Detroit at Work initiative announced the opening of applications for the next ‘Tech Hire Bootcamp’ with Grand Circus, a professional technology training institute in Detroit and Grand Rapids, as the training provider partner. Applications from Detroit residents, 18 and older, were accepted through August 31. Students accepted to the program will receive full funding to attend the coding bootcamp through Detroit at Work. Participants must commit to full-time classwork – 9 a.m. through 5 p.m., Monday through Friday - at Grand Circus, beginning on October 8, 2018 and ending on December 14, 2018.

The 12-week Tech Hire Bootcamp will prepare students to immediately enter the workforce as entry-level developers in positions like Business Analyst, Web Developer, Quality Assurance Tester or Program Manager. Through hands-on and experiential learning, students will be exposed to a variety of essential programming code, including Java. As another layer of support, all Bootcamp graduates will benefit from career assistance, including guaranteed first round interviews at leading tech companies including SolvIT, Inc.
