TROY, Mich., May 26, 2021 — Dave Schippers, D.Sc., CISSP, assistant professor and chair of information technology/decision sciences at Walsh, will participate by invitation in Automation Alley’s Technology in Industry Reveal 2021: Manufacturing Resilience & Innovation virtual panel discussion on June 22 at 11 a.m. Panelists also include Jeff Hall, senior director of technology & strategic sales, Omron, Sherif Marakby, executive vice president of research and development, Magna International, Inc. and U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens and will discuss the urgent need for manufacturing resilience and innovation. Tom Kelly, executive director and CEO of Automation Alley will moderate.
Schippers previously contributed research focused on the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and cybersecurity of cyber physical systems on the manufacturing line to Automation Alley’s 2019 and 2020 Technology in Industry reports.
Prior to teaching at Walsh, Schippers spent decades working in information technology, cybersecurity and project management. In addition to teaching, he now consults as a professional investigator and cybersecurity professional. Schippers earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Ferris State University and a doctoral degree from Capitol Technology University and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
