Automation Alley announces 2018 Board of Directors

Representatives from Beaumont Health, Strategic Staffing Solutions join board    
 
TROY, Mich., Jan. 11, 2018   Automation Alley, Michigan’s leading technology and manufacturing business association, has elected Kurt Saldana, president of Quality Metalcraft, as its new board president and Rochelle Black, Oakland University vice president of government and community affairs, as secretary of the board. John Paul Rea, director of Macomb County’s Department of Planning and Economic Development, will serve as board treasurer.
 
In addition, Automation Alley elected two new members to its board of directors: Mark Bohen, marketing and communications officer of Beaumont Health, and Juan Madronero, Detroit branch manager of Strategic Staffing Solutions.
 
Board members serve as the nonprofit association’s governing body, provide oversight and are vital to the development of programs, services, events and committees.
 
“The staff and I look forward to working with our new board members as our organization continues to evolve and grow into Michigan’s knowledge center for smart factory automation,” said Tom Kelly, Automation Alley’s executive director and CEO. “We look forward to our new board members being powerful ambassadors for Automation Alley as we create new programs and services related to helping our manufacturing base prepare and transition to Industry 4.0.”  
 
Industry 4.0, also known as the fourth industrial revolution, represents the convergence of the digital and physical technologies currently disrupting the manufacturing industry, including additive manufacturing and advanced materials, robotics, AI, big data, the cloud, cybersecurity, the Industrial Internet of Things, and modeling, simulation, visualization and immersion. Automation Alley is now focusing its programming around Industry 4.0 in order to be a critical resource for Southeast Michigan companies as they chart a course toward these advancements in manufacturing.
