  • About

Focus: HOPE was founded in 1968 in the wake of the devastating Detroit riots by Father William Cunningham (1930-1997) and Eleanor Josaitis to bring together people of all races, faiths and economic backgrounds. The co-founders established a mission to use ?intelligent and practical action to overcome racism, poverty and injustice? that continues to guide the organization. Focus: HOPE has effectively impacted racism and poverty in southeast Michigan through a holistic approach that begins with a food program and extends through education and training initiatives designed to move low-income underrepresented minorities into the economic mainstream.
