Job Description

The Project Engineer is accountable for the design of Engineering projects with top-down oversight from inception (Proposal) to completion (Customer Buy off).

He/she must ensure that all projects are prepared and completed safely adhering to the required standards, customer and municipal specifications, budget, timeline and scope. Works with all business unit functions in support of project goals and requirements.

Within the Project Team, ensure achievement of objectives in terms of scheduling of meetings, optimization of costs and management of the resources involved, making it possible to implement the best technical solutions (in terms of homogeneity, standardization and compliance with requirements).

In this role the ideal candidate will act as a network and think innovatively while executing the following responsibilities:


  • To work in a manner that protects the health, safety and welfare of yourself and others and adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
  • To liaise with the customer, internal function and subcontractors to endure the smooth running if the project
  • To evaluate and review customer Requirements & Specification and communicate them to all parties in the organization.
  • review Government and Industry Specifications
  • review as sold PBS and original baseline planning along with review Lesson Learned from previous projects
  • lead handover meetings with ESC
  • coordinate System Engineers involved in the project, ensuring homogeneous solutions among all commodities.
  • maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress along with managing the project within budget
  • continuously monitor Project scope of work and budget for matching
  • To define the technical solution to meet the change requirements and consider the best strategy for implementing the change.
  • Other duties as required

Reports to: Direct Mechanical Engineering

This role is best suited for a candidate that possess the following qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge in Automation Systems;
  • Customer manufacturing processes;
  • Company strategies, policies, processes and work instructions
  • Excellent organizational skills with a particular focus upon managing details
  • Use of appropriate interpersonal style(s) and communication methods to work effectively with project team and all functions to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Ability to develop and meet schedules;
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with practical, hands on problem solving approach
  • To recognize problems and opportunities quickly and correctly


Preferred Qualifications:

Education :

  • Master or Bachelor's degree in automation, engineering or business
  • Previous experiences
    • At least 5 years' experience in automation industry or automotive company
  • Languages
    • English
    • Second language optional (German, Spanish, French)
