Job Description
Design and Development Engineer Responsibilities
  • This person plans, conducts, coordinates, and performs various Engineering duties on new and existing products and projects
  • Provide technical project leadership for new development projects through coordination of                 product engineering functions which include:
  • Interfacing with all design processes
  • Participating in design review and DFMEA / PFMEA activities
  • Providing CAD skills as needed for project support (20-30% of work output)
  • Supporting customer engineering program management activities
  • Coordinating prototype builds for both internal and external customer requirements
  • Organizing validation activities with computer-aided development tools and physical part testing
  • Sustaining industrialization engineering and manufacturing trials for pre-series product builds and process trials
  • Participate in global standards and advanced development projects
  • Support manufacturing for serial production issues and cost reduction programs
  • Follow all documented procedures and standardized work forms and standards
 
Design and Development Engineer Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in engineering preferred; BSME preferred; Master’s degree a plus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with heat exchanger design / development is an advantage
  • 2+ years of CAD experience (3D modeling, 2D drafting, GD&T)
  • Catia V5 strongly preferred
  • Unigraphics or Pro / E also helpful
  • German language skills are a plus
  • Ability to take on a variety of engineering tasks and lead numerous inter-company disciplines towards project timing goals and cost targets
