Job Description
Job Summary

Represents the interests of Oakland County and provides assistance as requested to the Great Lakes Water Authority Board (GLWA Board). Provides expertise and oversight of policies and budgetary practices to ensure the delivery and processing of quality drinking water and sewage practices.  Analyzes budget proposals, consumer rates and financial statements using acceptable accounting practices. Participates in one or more GLWA task forces and work groups involving matters such as cost allocations, rate / charge development, operating and financial planning matters and other subject matters involving GLWA.  Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Minimum Qualifications

At the time of application, applicant must:

1. Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field with a minimum of 18 semester hours in accounting; AND

2. Have had four (4) years of full-time professional accounting experience.

NOTE: A Master's degree in one of the degree areas listed above may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.

3. Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license. Out of Country driver's license holders will be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan driver's license before the hire date.

4. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.

5. Successfully complete the six month probationary period.

Special Requirements

Must maintain a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license.
