Industry 4.0 and Advanced Manufacturing Opportunities Trends in Mexico (Jalisco and Guanajuato)

Join Automation Alley for Doing Business in Mexico to learn how U.S. companies can benefit from recent technological trends in Mexico that have transformed the nation into a global manufacturing powerhouse and center of innovation.

Participants will hear from Industry 4.0 experts from the States of Guanajuato (Institute of Innovation, Science and Entrepreneurship) and Jalisco (Jalisco’s Institute of Information Technology) about how they are helping their local manufacturers overcome the challenges of adopting and implementing Industry 4.0 technologies and processes within their enterprises and supply chains.

Industry 4.0 is designed to bridge the gap between the physical and cyber worlds using innovative technologies like the AI, Big Data, automation/robotics, interconnected sensors, and 3D printing. It aims to improve a company’s manufacturing competitiveness through increased efficiency and productivity, reduced operational costs, rationalized supply chains, and accelerated speed to market of new product developments.

Noel Nevshehir
As director of Automation Alley's International Business Services and Global Strategic Partnerships, Noel's responsibilities include assisting SMEs become globally competitive by expanding their markets overseas. He identifies countries with a high demand for Michigan-made products, services and technologies and leads trade missions around the world where U.S. companies have an opportunity to meet with potential buyers, end users and other potential business partners. Noel is also director of Global Strategic Partnerships and helps companies bridge the gap between the digital and physical world's while keeping pace with the rapid transformation in manufacturing today.

Luis Albert García
He is an executive with more than 20 years of experience in the Telecomm and IT areas and he has participated in the design and implementation of new technologies, that includes the deployment of the first GSM network in Mexico and the introduction of the 3G and 4G-LTE systems for Mexico’s largest Telecomm Network. Luis had coordinated data projects in order to use the mobile networks in different ways, for increasing productivity, like sales supervision, GPS and mapping, VPNs, etc. 
He designed the new form of registration for new clients or prepaid services, using SMS, with important cost reduction for their network operator. He was part of the committe that redesigned the structure of sales and support area in the company.
Currently, Luis is General Director of IJALTI (Jalisco's Institute of Information Technology). IJALTI is one of the most influential Cluster organizations in Mexico and has contributed to the growth of the Information Technology sector in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. Also, IJALTI generates specialized trainings and studies, with statistics about industry in Mexico. Jalisco’s IT sector is the most important sector in México and IJALTI is a key factor.
Luis gives conferences about technology, mobile solutions for business and how new technologies (like IoT, drones, social networks, etc.) will affect our lives.

Silvia Alonso Fugueroa
Silvia Alonso is the Commercial Director of Global Business Partners Mexico, consultancy firm founded in 2006 by Efren Flores and her. GBP Mexico provides international business development services to foreign entities and companies that seek to establish its products or services successfully in the Mexican and Latin-American Markets.
She has 21 years of experience in international business, market development, investment promotion, consultancy, marketing, international sales, matchmaking and business strategies for international and national customers. Holding wide experience in leading, and coordinating several trade missions including delegations with Government Officials and Entrepreneurs as well as coordinating participation in Trade Shows and helping several foreign companies to successfully enter the Mexican market.
She holds a bachelor Degree in International Business and a Master Degree in International Marketing from Universidad Intercontinental. Silvia has experience in working with several industries, such as: automotive, aerospace, security, metal/mechanic, automation, agriculture, medical, woods and food and beverage. She started her professional experience at Acetec Group a heavy machinery broker managing public relations, afterwards she joined Volvo Trucks Mexico as Junior Manager in the Exports-Imports Department, also worked as Junior Manager for Levaduras Azteca and later on she started working at the Pennsylvania State Office in Mexico as Trade Specialist.
In 2006 GBP Mexico was founded and since then they have assisted several foreign companies to develop business opportunities in the Mexican market. GBP Mexico was former representative of the state of Kentucky in Mexico for the period 2008-2013. And currently represents in Mexico the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors and Premiers, and the States of: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, New York, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Efren Flores
Efren holds degrees from California State University Northridge and ITESM in Monterrey, Mexico. As an international business development consultant, he travels widely throughout the U.S. and Latin America addressing marketing strategies and opportunities to do business in Mexico. He’s consulted with federal and state governments in Mexico and overseas, as a representative of the World Trade Organization for the Ministry of Economy, a member of APEC negotiation board and a senior trade specialist for a recognized consulting firm. He is General Director of Global Business Partners Mexico, S.C., a firm he founded in 2006. Efren has participated in 52 trade missions to Mexico and has worked with more than 1,700 U.S companies from Pennsylvania, Michigan, Kentucky, New York and Wisconsin as well as European companies to establish business ties in Mexico. He’s been recognized for skills in negotiation, international business development, business culture, international trade and investment, market strategy, strategic planning, international sales and business management. Efren’s expertise spans a range of industry sectors including: automotive, environmental, agricultural products and equipment, heavy machinery, telecommunications, civil and general security, medical, plastics and chemicals. 

Juan Antonio Reus Montaño
Juan Antonio is Director General  of the Institute of Innovation, Science and Entrepreneurship for Competitiveness for the State of Guanajuato (IDEA GTO). 
He has a Masters Degree in Strategic Business Management, currently a PhD in Administration focusing on Applied Innovation, from the Iberoamerican University. Juan Antonio has previously bolstered results and growth in several innovation and entrepreneurship organisms such as  Agrobioteg Innovation Park, CIEN Technology Park and the Eugenio Garza Lagüera, Entrepreneurship Institute of Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus León. He is an International Speaker for the Ibero – American Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CIEMPRENDER) and a High Level advisor for business and government organizations. Juan is also a key promoter of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Guanajuato and holder of the radio program, “Disruptive on Air”. 

Lisa Lasser
Lisa Lasser is Automation Alley’s International Business Services Manager. In this position, she manages the day-to-day operations associated with the organization’s global business activities, assisting foreign trade delegations and companies interested in establishing a presence in Michigan and also managing activities related to Automation Alley international trade missions, including logistical support and coordination, participant recruitment and pre-mission seminars. Lasser holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Oakland University. Prior to joining Automation Alley, she worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative and worked for a medical supply company.
