Event Description:

Automation Alley invites small and medium-sized Michigan businesses to join its trade mission to Guangzhou and Shenzhen, China and Bangkok, Thailand to discover how we can help you expand your business to these thriving overseas markets.

Did you know U.S. exports to China continue to outpace export growth to the rest of the world? Exports have grown by 86% over the last decade compared to only 21% to the rest of the world. China is Michigan’s third largest export market, with $3.5 billion of goods and services sold in 2018. U.S. good exports to China in 2018 were $120 billion. In Thailand, U.S. export sales reached $12.5 billion in 2018, an increase of more than 30% in the past decade.

In 2016, Michigan shipped $515 million in goods and services to Thailand, primarily transportation equipment and information technology. As the "Detroit of Asia," Thailand serves as an automotive hub.

Automation Alley's trade missions includes five-star hotels, in-country transportation, matchmaking meetings, interpreters, inter-country flight, business briefings, and a U.S. Embassy reception. International airfare is not included. Be sure to ask us about the State Trade Expansion Promotion Program (STEP) to see if your company qualifies for funding.

Participation is limited to 10 companies. The deadline to register is June 28. The cost to participate is $3,600 for Automation Alley members and $4,600 for non-members and may be subject to change based on availability.
