Job Description
Supply Chain Manager Responsibilities
  • The Corporate Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing the global transportation network in support of our manufacturing operations (Ocean, Air, FTL, LTL. Parcel)
  • The Corporate Supply Chain manager is also responsible for customs brokerage and trade compliance issues in order to ensure that “Company” is compliant with all domestic and international policies
  • The Corporate Supply Chain Manager also plays a key role in supporting our manufacturing plants’ MMOG / LE process
  • Manage all modes of the Global Transportation Network for manufacturing facilities as well as the “Company” test lab (Ocean, Air, FTL, LTL, Parcel)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers within the “Company” corporate and manufacturing facilities ? Manage relationship development and performance oversight carriers / 3PL’s / brokers
  • Manage Customs Brokerage and Trade Compliance Firms and all Imports and Exports into and out of the North American “Company” Facilities
  • Manage annual MMOG / LE submissions to the OEMs
  • Analyze and Price Transportation RFP’s for the Account Management and Sales teams for new business opportunities
  • Assist Direct and Indirect Commodity Buyers with Transportation and Logistics requests
  • Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing policies, standards, regulations, or laws
  • Negotiate prices and terms with carriers, brokers, vendors, or freight forwarders
  • Implement new or improved supply chain processes
  • Monitor carrier performance on an ongoing basis
  • Work with the appropriate areas, such as Finance, Production Management, Customer Service, I.T. and others to develop, implement and report carrier performance measures.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives to align with company goals
  • Ensure “Company” logistics services are in compliance with all existing regulations by staying knowledgeable of current regulations (Dept. of Transportation, U.S. / International Customs)
  • Travel occasionally as business needs dictate
  • Manage Ad Hoc Supply Chain requests from Internal and External Customers
 
Supplier Chain Manager Requirements
  • Must have working knowledge of MMOG / LE Processes to be considered
  • Must have knowledge of (Ocean, Air, FTL, LTL, Parcel) Networks
  • Previous transportation / logistics experience with a freight forwarder, carrier or shipper Working knowledge of Incoterms, and customs and international trade regulations
  • Transportation Management Software (TMS) experience
  • Understanding of Customs law and Customs SOP’s (standard operating procedures) and compliance (International business)
  • Supply chain vendor management skills
  • Experience in the management of carrier relationships (all modes), complex multi-plant logistics organizations, development of logistic employees, and implementation of new processes
  • Fluency in English; multi-lingual (written and oral) a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required; specialization in Transportation / Logistics and / or Supply Chain Management preferred
  • Strong data-entry skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional analytical thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Able to prioritize work, delegate, and meet deadlines
  • Proper sense of urgency and knowing when and how to step in
  • Ability to influence people multi-site, with different cultures and backgrounds
  • Comfortable with level of independency and decision-making authority
  • Accurate monitoring on costs, budgets, KPI’s
  • Understand implications of all relevant internal processes, such as logistics, planning, and execution
  • Strong leadership, team building, and communication skills
