Job Description
Senior Production Supervisor Responsibilities
  • The Senior Production Supervisor will be responsible for cost, quality and delivery of their assigned production area
  • This role will also be leading other tasks such as; capacity planning, resource planning, forecasting, master scheduling, inventory policy recommendations, etc.
  • Directly supervises operators and performs other management duties such as: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning and assigning work; employee performance reviews; addressing complaints and resolving problems, etc.
  • Plan and controls all production scheduling activities
  • Balances production and inventory levels according to demand
  • Maintain 99% customer satisfaction levels
  • Manages Work Orders and ensures necessary materials are in place to complete daily jobs
  • Develops Plan summaries for assigned product families and selected SKU’s including demand, inventory and production data
  • Develops 18-month master production schedules for finished goods and components based on demand, then calculates requirements according to production schedule for raw materials, purchased parts and packaging according to MRP methodology
  • Calculates resulting requirements for raw materials, purchased parts and packaging supplies based on MRP methodology
  • Provides daily schedules by SKU to manufacturing and implements production compliance metrics to track performance
  • Implements standard processes for Master Production Scheduling
  • Drives Lean & 5S methods throughout the production environment
  • Responsible for site planning and scheduling, cost, quality and delivery for “assigned” value-stream
  • Lead site S&OP processes and meeting to drive culture change
  • Support SAP systems and drive efficient use of MRP / ERP tools
  • Assures employees are trained on necessary processes and procedures to perform their assigned duties
  • Maintains time and attendance records and ensures adequate staffing within established guidelines
  • Identifies, communicates, and assists in the resolution of any production problems
  • Identifies and evaluates sources of scrap and rework and assists in correcting the problems
  • Coordinates production schedules and communicates changes to meet priorities
  • Assures compliance to and encourages employee involvement in ES&H activities, good housekeeping, cost effectiveness, company policies, OSHA and other safety guidelines, etc.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality
  • Performs all other duties as required
Senior Production Supervisor Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology or Business highly desired, but combination of education and experience is acceptable
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a fabrication and / or machining operation
  • Proficient in use Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Extensive experience with SAP or equivalent programs
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable
  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include, but are not limited to: walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, transporting supplies or equipment, sitting at a desk using a computer, and occasionally lifting and carrying items which may weigh up to 25 pounds
  • Position spends approximately 50% of time sitting at a desk and 50% standing or walking
  • Must be able to travel internationally
  • Must have a current Texas drivers’ license and a valid passport
