Job Description

We are searching for a highly energetic, organized and experienced Purchasing Platform Leader. This role will be a senior project purchasing role leveraging project management, purchasing and financial skills to plan, execute, control and deliver projects from the proposals face to customer acceptance. This role will report to the Regional Director of Purchasing & Supplier Quality

In this role the ideal candidate will act as a network and think innovatively while executing the following responsibilities:

  • Control/Drive
    • Follow projects from cradle to grave philosophy commencing with support in the proposal phase and ending with the close-out of the project
    • Primary point of contact/knowledge on a project for all material and service related procurement activities.
    • Ensure routine communication with project team on status
    • Ensure alignment of commodity buyers and SQS to project needs
    • Ensure compliance to corporate sourcing policy and procedures
    • Communicate, drive and support Commodity Purchasing teams to avoid/realize identified risks and opportunities
    • Monitors and drives sourcing plans
    • Monitor project excess stock levels and drive deposition with appropriate departments
    • Drive and support cost recovery actions due to supplier non-conformation issues
    • Support Project Controller with information needed in response to their estimate to complete assessments
  • Plan
    • Supporting P2 (Proposals) related to their platform to ensure best solutions maximizing revenue
    • Works with proposals, project team and purchasing team to develop sourcing plans in advance of execution
    • Identify risks/opportunities related to their programs.
    • Identify quality risks and drive risk mitigation plans with SQS team. Including specific follow up plans
    • Responsible to drive and coordinate advanced procurement / forecasting information's from the project team to commodity purchasing
  • Execute
    • Responsible for timeline development and updates
    • Responsible for knowledge of material status, identifying risks and driving SQS focus to maximize success of project deliverables
    • Work with project team to develop robust SOWs and capture all customer requirement
    • Lead critical program issues (timing, cost, quality)
    • Final responsibility for material delivery, cost and quality
    • Other duties as required

This role is best suited for a candidate that possess the following qualifications:

 Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivilent
  • Previous Purchasing or Project Management experience 
  • Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Power Point) -- Advanced skills required
  • Experience with Google Suites
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Strong problem solving capabilities
  • Ability to execute to a plan
  • Strong working knowledge of local supply baseFair working knowledge of global supply base
  • Expansive working knowledge on multiple commodities
  • Financial management skills
  • Clear understanding of project timelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team-based environment

 Required Qualifications: 

  • BA in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of Purchasing or project management experience
  • Strong working knowledge of accrual based accounting systems
  • Strong working knowledge of project based organizations
  • Strong understanding of cash flow inputs
  • Strong collaborative skills with suppliers and internal team members
  • Ability to lead and influence others without direct control over their performance
  • Working knowledge of supplier quality methods and corrective action methods
  • Strong understanding of budgeting and forecasting (financially on the project and with the supply base)
  • Ability to multi-task and work from remote locations
  • SAP Experience is a plus
