Job Description

Seeking a Production Supervisor to support our growth. You will be part of the plant leadership team responsible for achieving business and financial goals by developing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes and leading continuous improvement.

You will have overall responsibility for leading the manufacturing team in achieving production schedule, product quality, product cost, and employee safety goals. This will require you to coordinate with all functional and service groups to meet customer requirements. You will drive performance to achieve or exceed financial plans and strategic goals and leverage resources and motivate personnel to create a high-performance culture.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Manage and direct all manufacturing activities to ensure completion of customer requirements

·       Responsible for performance indicators, and corrective actions, to ensure schedule, cost, and quality goals are met

·       Responsible for ensuring that required documentation and/or system transactions are executed to meet customer, manufacturing system, and financial reporting requirements

·       Assure policies, procedures, and other documentation are followed to ensure consistent and compliant manufactured products

·       Responsible for the introduction, development and continuous improvement of all manufacturing processes and product structures across the site

·       Support product design organization through new product introduction phase to ensure customer manufacturing delivery times are met

·       Responsible for assuring that Environmental, Health, and Safety issues are addressed considering local regulations, company policy, and good corporate citizenship

·       Develop budgets and resource plans, and monitor performance, to achieve product delivery and financial requirements

·       Evaluate and develop talent through coaching, delegation and empowerment

·       Coordinate and assist with business initiatives, participating on teams in order to drive best practices across enterprise.

 

SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

·       Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related is required;

·       Minimum 7 years of manufacturing operations management experience. Fabrication or General Assembly experience would be preferred; Military experience is welcomed.

·       Minimum 3 years of Supervisory or Managerial experience in a high mix / low volume industrial manufacturing operation.

·       Strong, metric-driven personality and methodology, and must drive the business for continual improvement of key metrics

·       Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, Kanban) concepts and tools as they relate to materials management

·       Good understanding of problem solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) – i.e. thought maps, root cause analysis, control charts, Pareto charts, etc.

·       Knowledge of financial concepts and techniques utilized to establish value propositions of operational changes

·       Ability to lead cross-functional process improvement teams (knowledge of Kaizen events)
