Job Description:

 
The Procurement Specialist / Production Scheduler will manage vendor relationships and oversee order placement, including raw materials, RFQ’s, price negotiations, purchase order creation, order tracking/logistics and management.  In the production scheduling capacity, determine and execute work schedules to ensure the most efficient use of plant resources and personnel and avoid any past dues and excess inventory. 
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Managing the procurement process from sourcing through to production
  • Planning, forecasting and executing purchases based on production schedules
  • Track and monitor inventory and needs to determine when to order or purchase new items.
  • Supplier contract negotiation, award and management. Negotiation of terms as well as lead times and KPIs to ensure compliance as well as a steady flow for production output
  • Ensuring spend and supplier data is clear and up to date
  • Spend analytics and reporting for senior management
  • Creating POs, following up on raw material deliveries with suppliers and taking ownership for Just-In-Time delivery as the point of contact for their transportation and import partners
  • Identifying supplier risks and take initiatives to reduce and/or eliminate risk
  • Developing and leading new supply sources (Advanced Sourcing, Dual Sourcing) while supporting daily responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of the entire procurement process including PPAP and Change Management (Engineering Change Request, Deviation, and Return Material Authorization)
  • Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the productions cycle to determine required materials.
  • Works to resolve (in case of design changes) labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
  • Oversees the master schedule and ensures comprehensive compliance with materials requirements for manufacturing.
  • Determines material requirements from production schedules and maintains inventory at planned levels.
  • Drives cost savings and quality improvement projects.
  • Create the manufacturing forecast based upon domestic and international sales data.
  • Develop rough-cut capacity plans to analyze and negotiate resource requirements.
  • Develop an executable master production schedule in accordance with inventory guidelines and on-time delivery requirements.

Education Requirement
 
Requires a bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related areas and 3-6 years of experience in the field. An MBA is highly preferred. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Perform a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
