QA Manager Responsibilities
  • Responsible for Technology Innovation Quality Assurance team and function
  • Test cases thoroughly documented
  • Documentation, prioritization, and resolution
  • Subject matter expertise for multiple applications and business processes
  • Thorough test reviews
  • As a member of the Technology leadership team, this role will collaborate in setting and implementing the overall organizational vision, taking personal responsibility for any needs observed across the larger team – especially as they pertain to our people
  • Recruit, motivate, and coach team, setting clear performance expectations and maintaining accountability
  • Identify and develop likely successors
  • Aware of and compliant with all financial policies, as well as driving cost consciousness and reductions to bottom line across organization; not intimidated by difficult or unpopular decisions and strategies
  • Known and sought out as an expert in tools and processes, especially within function; ensuring similar knowledge across the team
  • Understanding industry trends and opportunities, regularly seek out and implement improvements in how we operate to make functions and processes simpler
  • Stand out in the memory of our team members as the best mentor they have ever had
  • As a leader, this role is responsible for being a proactive thought leader across our business, translating needs into technology solutions, delivering value to our company at large, and continually driving improvements in how we operate as a business
  • Seek out risk across entire organization to eliminate adverse impacts and create new, unforeseen opportunities for efficiency in our operations
  • Develop effective networks (inside and outside company) to achieve long-term results, demonstrating visible cooperation through resource sharing and subordination of personal agenda
  • Gain crystal clear understanding of stakeholder requirements
  • Write, maintain, and ruthlessly execute detailed test cases, writing automation whenever possible
  • Document identified bugs and set proper priority, driving to proper resolution
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for multiple applications and / or business processes
  • Lead end to end, feature level test reviews across multiple teams
QA Manager Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 8 years’ in IT, across multiple disciplines, as well as significant exposure to other roles around the business
  • 2 years’ in an IT leadership role
  • 2 years of vendor relationship management
  • Proven ability to influence and lead others in a multi-team environment
  • Leadership, conflict management, and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of SDLC processes
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Time management skills
  • Recruiting, hiring, and coaching for performance and growth
  • Ability to establish credibility with technology stakeholders and become a trusted partner
  • Analytical thinking
  • Strong customer focus
  • Organizational and administrative skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • SQL scripting
  • Black box, white box testing
  • Meticulous documentation of Test Cases, Defects, and Test Results
  • Knowledge of Test Management Systems (TestRail is a plus)
  • Protecting people from their own terrible ideas / decisions
  • Current Web UI standards
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Awareness of testing timelines and release dates
  • Test Environment Maintenance
  • Work independently providing detailed status on tasks completed
  • Driven and passionate about software quality assurance
