Customer Services Technician II - Information Technology

Job Description

Under general supervision, installs, configures and maintains network integrated application and operating system software which includes patches and enhancements. Analyzes and designs setup procedures, files and documentation for new customer implementations. Troubleshoots and resolves hardware, operating system and application software malfunctions and provides corrective action to address Local Area Network impact and minimize customer inconvenience. Provides customer training and ongoing support. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.


Minimum Qualifications

If a degree is used to determine if the applicant is minimally qualified to fill the position, the applicant must email a copy of their transcript at the time of application to transcripts@oakgov.com. At the time of application, applicants must:

1. a. Possess thirty (30) semester credit hours of course work in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, from an accredited college or university; AND

b. Have at least three (3) years of full-time professional work experience in the installation, configuration and maintenance of networked computer hardware, software and related peripherals; OR

2. a. Must be a high school graduate, or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Education Development Test; AND

b. Have at least four (4) years of full-time professional work experience in the installation, configuration and maintenance of networked computer hardware, software and related peripherals.

NOTE: Up to one (1) year of additional course work from an accredited college or university with a major in Business administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field work may substitute for one (1) year of experience.

3. Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license. Out of Country driver's license holders will be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan driver's license before the hire date.

4. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical established for this classification.

5. Satisfactorily complete the six (6) month probationary period.


Special Requirements

Must maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license.
