Job Description
Quality Test Engineer Responsibilities
  • 1st Shift
  • Process and testing, Quality planning and plan execution
  • Link DFMEA and KCDS to PFMEA, control plans and work instruction development
  • Evaluate, proposed improvements and follow-up with suppliers of industrial equipment, including testing equipment and gages for quality checks
  • Meet Quality deliverables, using control plans, process capabilities, measurement system analyses and Single Issues List
  • Effectively communicate with engineers, Quality technicians, management and production operators to disseminate information on quality processes
  • Provide input for testing processes to handle specified tolerances
  • Work with Production and Manufacturing Engineering to meet First Time Yield targets
  • Proactively and efficiently agree on deliverables, define Quality requirements, and communicate progress with cross-functional teams and with remote functional experts
  • Support Quality Management System, BIQS and Quality Launch Plan
  • Ensure Quality targets and Quality Launch Plan elements are addressed, and escalate when appropriate
  • Lead Issue identification, prioritization and resolution through the cross-functional team and report progress and roadblocks to the SIL Manager
Quality Test Engineer Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in automotive Quality
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems, including ISO, TS and / or IATF
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, including 8D
  • Strong knowledge of APQP and PPAP
  • Knowledge of material flow concepts, End of Line Test and tooling, including GD&T preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people of all levels
  • Ability to work in a team environment is a must
  • 10% travel and ability to periodically work non-traditional business hours to support Quality Launch issues
