Job Description
Position Overview:
 Identify, interpolate and execute engineering solutions within the business unit. Must be familiar with all grades of materials as they relate to performance and appearance of such products. Communicate within the group for solutions to issues as they arise during design, implementation and manufacturing processes. A strong member of the Product Development Team directing and taking actions as necessary to ensure customer deliverables.


— Leads the design efforts responsible for a product design that meets the customers fit, form and function requirements and ensure efficient production methods. Part(s) include, but not limited to: I/P's, Consoles, Door Trim, Hard & Soft Trim. Primarily up level wrapped parts.
— Generates and supports the Engineering Change Request (ECR) system that documents product changes. Responsibilities include the generation and maintenance of the DFMEA, B.O.M. and Math Data Transfer documents in the corporate database. — Utilizes GD&T to reduce build variations and to meet or exceed customer requirements.
— Coordinates the efforts of various disciplines to the product design including tool design, manufacturing, and quality as those efforts relate to a successful product launch.
— Provides engineering support for tool design reviews, tryout, first shots, DOE's as they relate to launch and current production manufacturing issues.
— Provides technical support to the customer and our manufacturing during vehicle phase and launch builds.


 — Engineering Degree is preferred or a combination of education and 5 + years in Automotive Interior Trim.


— 5 + years in automotive engineering, manufacturing field preferred.

Technical Skills:

— Facilitate the activities of working groups and PDT meetings.
— Experience in applying analytical problem solving tools such as FEA and Mold Fill Analysis.
— Strong understanding of FMVSS and the application of these specifications to the product (i.e. 201, 208 and HIC performance).
