Job Description
Test Technician Responsibilities
  • Under limited supervision develops and maintains test procedures, test hardware and software for component and electronic durability testing
  • Performs durability testing and creates or aids in the creation of reports for testing that may have been performed
  • Research and build test stations / equipment including hardware setup and software development specific to customer / test requirements
  • Documentation of procedures used and any raw data from tests that are performed in the lab
  • Prepares documentation and reports for customers
  • Review test equipment designs, data and test issues with customers regularly
  • Responsible for maintaining customer supplied test equipment
  • Perform semi-routine technique development and maintenance, subject to established company’s standards, including ISO development standards
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor
  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Test Technician Requirements
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations
  • A Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required
  • Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows based operating system and related software
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Read and understand visual aids
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs
  • Ability to concentrate in a busy environment and stay on task
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Previous experience with computer systems / software including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of electronics theory, mechanical theory and equipment used in the testing of electronic and mechanical components
  • Knowledge of process flows to include flow charts and written processes
  • Advance problem solving and decision making skills
  • Advanced reading, writing and math skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills required with demonstrated ability to build and maintain teamwork
  • High school diploma required
  • Two or more years’ experience in test engineering or equivalent work
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
