Job Description
Senior Benefit Specialist Responsibilities
  • Serve as point of contact for Benefit Broker for benefit plan decision making, and provide guidance to all NAMCs as needed
  • Support daily activities of Benefits Specialist team member
  • Serve as payroll backup; able to process bi-weekly payroll and timekeeping administration
  • Drive annual open enrollment communications and processes, and serve as SME to build and maintain online benefit enrollment system
  • Perform as the benefits subject matter expert, and answer inquiries from employees & NAMC HR contacts
  • Administer employee leave and disability programs
  • Point of contact for the administration and billing of benefits for all US locations
  • Administer 401k Plan, host 401k Planning Committee, and provide guidance to NAMCs as needed
  • Develop and administer healthy living initiatives, and provide guidance to NAMCs on healthy living activities and challenges
  • Develop monthly and cumulative benefit and payroll strategy room review materials by location as required
  • Administer and monitor worker’s compensation claims and reporting
  • Reconcile benefit and other related vendor invoicing, and identify variances from budget to actual
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws such as, but not limited to, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, ACA, and COBRA
  • Stay up to date on changes to healthcare regulations, and develop corrective action to comply with changes
  • Drive productivity by being actively engaged in continuous improvement efforts
  • Function in a highly collaborative environment where flexibility and teamwork is crucial to individual success
 
Senior Benefit Specialist Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, concentration in Human Resources is preferred
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in Human Resources is required; additional payroll experience preferred
  • Experience with online benefit enrollment systems and process is required
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suites 2007 or newer is required, including Excel Pivot tables and V lookups
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines is required
  • Effective verbal, non-verbal, negotiation and written communication skills are required
  • Ability to sustain a high degree of professionalism while interacting with internal and external customers is required
  • Effective attention to detail, problem solving, analytical and organizational skills is required
