Job Description
Quality Engineer Responsibilities
  • Writing and maintaining the following:
  • Control Plans
  • PFMEAS
  • Process flows
  • Inspection Instructions
  • Gage Instructions
  • Inspection Record sheets
  • Specification review with engineering for parts and checking fixtures
  • Participation with Manufacturing Engineering to complete PFMEAs
  • Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions as directed
  • Compilation and maintenance of APQP/PPAP/Work instruction documentation
  • Investigation of reported build issues and product non-compliance
  • Answer complaints (8D, QR or PRRs) to the customer
  • Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to implement and verify corrective actions
  • Customer visitation as required both preventing and resolving complaints
  • Support Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP), Schedule A reports, Process Sign Off
  • Familiar with and be able to use gaging such as but not limited to Calipers , Mics , Height gages along with additional gages found in a manufacturing environment
 
Quality Engineer Requirements
  • Strong Problem Solving skills. Strong oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Prefer a strong background in CMM programming and use of Calypso software / PC DMIS
  • Prefer a strong background in gage repair and calibration
  • Use of ERP system – Plex knowledge preferred
  • Must be knowledgeable in GD&T
  • Able to read and interpret  CMM reports
  • Knowledge of IMDS
