Job Description
Lead Coordinator / Project Lead Responsibilities
  • Performs all project tasks, including collection of spare part inputs, critical and noncritical spare parts selection, BOM formatting and import, etc.
  • Creates and maintains status reports and tracking of ME deliverables
  • Interfaces directly with GM ME business owners, responsible engineers, suppliers, and plant maintenance
  • Coordinates critical tasks and deliverables per project timing requirements
  • Review incoming Bills of Material and OEM parts lists to determine maintenance and consumable parts for maintaining plant equipment
  • Manage / Coordinate spare parts process for the company’s new vehicle launch programs as assigned
  • Obtains the process inputs from the company’s project team and OEM and Tier One Suppliers
  • Performs various project management and data entry tasks associated with spare parts launch activity
  • Follow-up with responsible company Manufacturing Engineers / OEM for resolution of issues
  • Provide status reports as required to the company Business Owners and other key stakeholders
  • Experienced GM / automotive tool design engineers
 
Lead Coordinator / Project Lead Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update pre-production / production properties to currently released content for testing, evaluation and ride trips
  • Learn and understand GM systems (SharePoint Work Ticket, APM, E2, EMS, GPDS, PDS, eCVMS, VIS-MOC, Elec. Parts Catalog, etc.)
  • Create and maintain running Excel matrix of all work done on all vehicles
  • Handle program teams in the acquisition of parts and updating of vehicles
  • Locate, borrow or order parts through GM system (SPO) as required
  • Research parts not readily available and establish plan to acquire
  • Track incoming parts for timing and installation
  • Learn and understand the global parts ordering process
  • Support program teams by writing work tickets, and ensuring parts are installed on vehicles as required
  • Communicate with teams for timing, tracking and initiating all requirements to ensure successful builds
  • Follow projects from cradle to grave
  • Follow up with VPM on finished projects and lessons learned
  • Work with Program coordinators to update SPUF database
  • Understand the PPO (Pre-Production Operations) process in order to solve problems
  • Support Vehicle Performance Manager’s (VPM) special requests
  • Good vehicle / parts knowledge
  • Knowledge of GM parts systems
  • Actively use and implement GMS initiatives to support team including but not limited to, WPO, Job Rotation, BPD, Standardized Work
  • Execute safe work practices as the highest priority and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health / safety and housekeeping
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with Engineers, Technicians and support staff
  • 5 – 7 years of experience required
  • High School Diploma or GED required
