Job Description
Injection Molding Maintenance Technician Responsibilities
  • Responsible for Initiating and performing injection mold preventive maintenance schedules and record tool history
  • Perform mold disassembly and assembly for inspection / cleaning / minor repairs
  • Work safely at all times and maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Initiate and perform injection mold preventive maintenance schedules and record tool history
  • Provide technical support to production team
  • Perform mold disassembly and assembly for inspection / cleaning / minor repairs
  • Work with hot runner and valve gate systems proficiently
  • Order / maintain tooling spare parts inventory
  • Work with tool shops to quote / coordinate / monitor / approve tool repairs / engineering changes
  • Participate in set-up activities
  • Assist with processing and machine troubleshooting
  • Assist in production monitoring and continuous improvement activities
  • Participate in injection molding trials and "part to print" best practices
  • Work overtime as needed
 
Injection Molding Maintenance Technician Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience in plastic injection mold tooling design, development, construction, maintenance, and repair
  • HVAC housing and / or radiator tank injection mold tooling experience is a plus
  • Mechanical / technical diploma / degree is preferred or equivalent experience in injection mold maintenance is required
  • Knowledge of tooling electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and water systems
  • Possesses machining skills for minor mold component repair / replacement
  • Injection molding processing experience is preferred or willingness to learn these skills
  • Molding machine maintenance knowledge is a plus
  • Ability to use basic functions of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and maintenance tracking software
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule and respond to off-shift tooling issues as necessary
